Employee of the Month
Jessica Bullock has been the recipient of the Employee of the Month for January 2011. Jessica has been recognized for doing 'double duty' providing services for her Family Self-Sufficiency clients in her new capacity as FSS Manager while maintaining the work flow in her previous position as Certification Specialist.
To say our February 2011 EOM completes all tasks meticulously and without hesitation, hardly describes Maintenance Mechanic Gary Camiliere’s integrity. Beyond personal pride in his work, as Lead Maintenance Mechanic for AMP 3, he thoroughly learned all facets of his territory and trains YouthBuild Lake County interns from his experience and knowledge. He is credited with strong communication skills especially noticeable in the coordination of contracts and city officials during the flood at Kuester Manor. He was nominated as being the true spirit of Employee of the Month.
Ryan Brandes, Section 8 Housing Quality Specialist, has been recognized for his "over achieving" as the March 2011 Employee of the Month. Ryan has been involved in a lot of extra community development work while learning his new position. Ryan is involved with the Boy Scouts at Marion Jones and has encouraged other staff to join in these worthwhile ventures.
April 2011 honored Family Self-Sufficiency Manager, Luz Guardado as its Employee of the Month. Luz stepped in to help with the daily activities in the housing counseling division in the absence of the housing counselor. She also continues to work with the FSS Manager to make sure that the number of clients enrolled increases. Luz is doing all of this with a better than average attitude since she is fairly new to the agency.
Property Manager, Arlene Kocen is being recognized as the May 2011 Employee of the Month. She is congratulated for being 100% leased in her assigned area reflecting the joint determination to ready vacant units and house applicants as quickly as possible. She has served the Authority and its clients for 31 years.
Verification Specialist Sue Givens is receiving the June Employee of the Month recognition. Sue is a great example of a team player and takes on each day with a “can do” attitude. Sue fostered an agreement between the State of Illinois & LCHA. The State Department of Human Services and LCHA are planning on entering into an agreement where we will have computer access to public aide information. We are obligated to verify public aide/food stamps on just about every action processed for our participants.
Housing Quality Specialist Jarrod Magee was a solid choice for the July 2011 Employee of the Month. His commitment to the responsibilities of his job and his dedication to the Authority’s mission is, time and again, foremost in his actions. He consistently demonstrates professionalism, good manners and respect to all clients and staff.
Housing Counselor
Yolanda Lynn earned the spot as the August 2011 Employee of the Month. She has taken on additional tasks as LCHA has been named a sponsoring agency for the Illinois Hardest Hit Fund program. She aids families through the process of applying for financial assistance to save their homes.

Rosemary has learned most phases of the Housing Choice Voucher Program through her years of service with LCHA. Currently, the HCV program experienced a high volume of departing staff making all procedures difficult at best. Rosemary has readily worn many different hats, stepping in and plugging gaps from her vast bank of experience. Congratulations to our September 2011
Employee of the Month, Rosemary Simrow, our HCV Support Specialist!
The October 2011 Employee of the Month has been recognized before! She was, in fact, the very first recipient of this award. Property Manager, Pam Lamb has maintained her dedication to her properties and continued her efforts to achieve higher standards. So much so that Pam has also been named the 2011 Employee of the Year. Congratulations!
